We are a Franciscan community of apostolic contemplatives who live a life based on the Capuchin branch of the Franciscan Order, while following the hidden life of Nazareth. We live a poor, simple life, totally entrusting ourselves to God's Divine Providence. We are "contemplatives in action," with Eucharistic Adoration every morning and evening, communal chanting of the Divine Office, and much time for silent, intimate dialogue with Our Beloved Spouse, the Lord Jesus. We bring to Him in prayer all the needs of the world and all those who have asked for our prayers, especially for the Catholic Church, the Pope, and all bishops and priests. From this prayer flows our rich, joy-filled communal life where we, as true "sisters" in the Lord, witness to the world the value of family life, like the Holy Family of Nazareth. From our prayer and communal life comes our apostolate, which is evangelization through parish missions, youth and adult retreats, home visitations, and days of recollection. Our periodic apostolate allows us to be these "contemplatives in action," giving our Lord's children the fruit of our prayer. Located in the Scranton diocese of Pennsylvania, the contemplative and rural atmosphere of our convents and the joy of our small fraternities witness to the world of a life lived primarily to be a bride of Christ in poverty and simplicity, and then to spread the Gospel as Our Lord did and St. Francis imitated, by the simple evangelization of our lives, our words, and our actions.
