OSJV: Oratorians of St John Vianney; an international ecumenical fraternity of laymen and Sacred Ministers (deacons, priests, bishops) inspired by the life and ministry of St John Vianney and the model of apostolic fellowship taught by St Philip Neri (founder of the Congregation of the Oratory of St Philip Neri). Members of the fraternity are called "Oratorians" and may live "in the world" witnessing in their own parochial community ("in domibus propriis") or in a communal house ("in communitas") called an "Oratory". Roman Catholics, Anglicans, Orthodox and Old Catholic men who are both baptised and confirmed may join the fraternity. Oratorians do not take religious vows i.e. of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience but commit themselves to the Oratory through an "Act of Commitment" expressing the "bond of charity" i.e. a voluntary commitment to join the fraternity and live the Rule of Life which encapsulates the principles of the Evanglical Counsels. Interestingly, Oratorians may be single, celibate or married depending on the denomination they belong to. It is important to note that membership of the Oratory, although ecumenical, in no way affects the Canonical status or customary obligations of a member to his denomination. Website:www.osjv.org
