Community is the very heart of the Brother's life. Brothers live together as a family trying to follow the example of Jesus. By sharing, friendship, teamwork, and prayer together they learn to understand the joy and promise of a life of service. "The brothers live in community to give one another mutual support and to have a greater influence for good on the people among whom they live and work." Brothers of the Sacred Heart "Rule of Life" #48 True brotherhood in community doesn't just happen; every member of that community has to work at it. Each Brother daily works at making his local community a place where everyone can be himself and feel accepted. "By sharing responsibilities, recognizing one another's talents, and cooperating in a work essential to the church, we contribute to the personal development of each brother." Brothers of the Sacred Heart "Rule of Life" #25 Spirituality Click here to pray the Way of the Cross for young people - _www.viacrucisonline.info_ (http://www.viacrucisonline.info/) Communal and personal prayer is an integral and essential element of the daily life of a Brother. The community prayer of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart is actually a sharing of our lived experience of the love of God in our lives. Each morning and evening the brothers gather to share their experience of the Sacred Heart. Of course, it is the celebration of the Eucharist that is meant to be the central communal expression of each Brother's daily life. The Brothers come together daily as a community of faith to celebrate Eucharist. Regular retreats, shared prayer, communal penance services and days of recollection are other ways the Brothers share their faith with each other. Ultimately, there is nothing that Brothers of the Sacred Heart want more than this: to be a group of men who see Jesus in their daily lives and to share that with others.
