Anointing of the Sick | Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick | the Last Rites

The Anointing of the sick is usually given at the hour of death; however, many people receive it before a big surgery or after a serious injury. The anointing of the sick is a sacrament that is supposed to help prepare you for the life after death on earth. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is very Biblical much like the other six sacraments of the Catholic Church. For instance, James 5:13-15 reads: “13 Is any of you sad? Let him pray. Is he cheerful in mind? Let him sing. 14 Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in the priests of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick man: and the Lord shall raise him up: and if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him.”
