Novenas | Nine Day Prayers

Novenas are nine day prayers because it took nine full days of prayer and on the tenth the Holy Spirit appeared to the Apostles in the upper room known as Pentecost. So the tradition is to pray a novena, which is Latin for 'nine', and by or on the tenth day the request is to be answered. Several novenas exist, and are prayed to specific saints, the Holy Virgen, the Sacred Heart, Jesus Himself, and more. Novenas have been a long lasting tradition, and you know they must work because otherwise, no one would pray them anymore. Usually the novena is said to a specific person and the intention of the novena is left up to the orator, although there are several novenas that have a specific intention, for example, a novena for confidence(on the second page). Please take a look at the second page to find some great Novenas that you can pray and pass on to others.
