Saints
Why does God give us Saints?
1. To help our faith through the miracles
2. To show us a way to become closer to him through their lives just like he gave Prophets in the Old Testament.
3. To tell us more about him and heaven, through the saints we have learned what God has revealed to them about purgatory, Mary, life of Jesus, the Eucharist, and more.
Jesus told the Apostles in Mathew, that they would sit on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Since the twelve tribes of Israel in the new Testament means all Christians, not just the Israelites, Jesus is promising that the Apostles will continue in their participation in man’s salvation even in Heaven.
Mt. 19: 27 27 Then Peter said in reply, "Look, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?" 28 Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man is seated on the throne of his glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
The Church Suffering(souls in Purgatory)
The Church teachings:
Catechism of the Catholic Church states: "All who die in God's grace and friendship, but still are imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven. The Church gives the name Purgatory to this final purification of the elect, which is entirely different from the punishment of the damned" (CCC 1030-1).
Eph.4:7 But each of us was given grace according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8 Therefore it is said, "When he ascended on high he made captivity itself a captive; he gave gifts to his people." 9 (When it says, "He ascended," what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He who descended is the same one who ascended far above all the heavens, so that he might fill all things
1Cor.10: According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building on it. Each builder must choose with care how to build on it. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw-- 13 the work of each builder will become visible, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each has done. 14 If what has been built on the foundation survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If the work is burned up, the builder will suffer loss; the builder will be saved, but only as through fire.We are told in revelations nothing can enter heaven unless it is pure.
