The faithful say:
Lord I am not worthy to receive you, only say the word and my soul will be healed.
What are we saying and Why. Yes we are not worthy but we are evoking a biblical verse dealing with a great faith. A faith that, Jesus will heal us and make us ready for the Lamb’s supper. Mathew 8:5. We see how the Centurion tells Jesus he is not worth for Jesus to come under his roof: only say the word and my son will be healed. Jesus then proceeds to state, nowhere in Israel had he found such faith.
But listen to what he says next.
I say to you many will come from the east and the west, and will recline with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the banquet in the kingdom of heaven, but the children of the kingdom will be driven out into the outer darkness where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth, and Jesus said to the centurion, you may go as you have believed; let it be done for you. And at that very hour his servant was healed.
We are proclaiming our faith just like the Centurion.
This is the faith we need and when we do the righteous deeds through that faith we will be invited to the heavenly banquet in the Kingdom of heaven.
You see It’s in Revelation that we see, incense, candle labara’s, saints, Angels, interceding prayers, altars, The Lamb, with linen garments, righteous deeds, just as we see them at every mass. All praising and worshiping God at the same time and in the same Liturgy as we his bride, the church on earth and in heaven. Because his Kingdom has come and his will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
And we proceed up together in union as one holy assembly to communion to commune with each other and the lamb. Jesus our High Priest, our King and our Lamb the sacrifice he gives to us to strengthen us with grace, the Holy Spirit, to empower us to continue to do righteous deeds, the will of God.
