The Mass, Catholic Mass, Sunday Mass

(Heb 10:19-22) “Therefore, brothers, since through the blood of Jesus we have confidence of entry into the sanctuary by the new and living way he opened for us through the veil, that is, his flesh, and since we have “a great priest over the house of God,” let us approach with a sincere heart and in absolute trust, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.” We offer to the Father what he has given us - ourselves and all creation, represented by the bread and wine, which by the power of the Holy Spirit and the words of Jesus Christ become the body and blood, soul and divinity of Jesus. He is thus made really and mysteriously present.

The Mass is:
-thanksgiving and praise to the Father.
-the sacrificial memorial of Christ and his Body.
-the presence of Christ by the power of his word and the Holy Spirit. (see CCC 1110-1112)

Jesus Christ is present in every Mass in four distinct ways:
-In the priest (Standing in for Christ)
-In the Scriptures (The WORD of God)
-In the assembly (which is the church the Body of Christ)
-In the Consecrated Bread and Wine (Just as Jesus said at the last Super "this is my body, this is my blood"
