The Mass, Catholic Mass, Sunday Mass

An Overview of the Mass:

Before we start with the Mass we would like you to discuss two themes that run in the bible from Geniuses to Revelations.

1st Why are we created?

To know, love, and serve the Lord. This means do the will of God. Mt 7:21, Lets start with Adam (God’s first son). What was his problem? He did the one thing God had willed him not to do. He disobeyed God by eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. As we move through history, we see that God’s chosen people, Israel (God’s collective first son), were told they would be blessed if they obeyed God’s covenant (i.e., did the will of God) In the story of salvation, we find out pretty quickly there is no in-between with God. We can't sit on the fence. We are either with him or against him. We can do his will and receive his blessing as we see in Exodus or we can disobey like Adam and Israel and receive his curses. But when Jesus, the Son of God, arrives in the Garden of Gethsemane, he says, “let this cup pass me from me; yet, not as I will, but as you will” (He gave his fiat.) Jesus is the obedient Son of God.
In Matt 7:21 Jesus tells us not every one that cries out Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of God but only the ones who do the will of my fathers in heaven. Through this we see that God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. God wants obedient sons and daughters.
In Matt 6:9 Jesus teaches us how important Gods will is in the Lord's Prayer. Jesus emphasizes how important it is that God's will be done on earth as is in heaven. In Eph 1:9 Paul tells us how the mystery that God has kept hidden from old now is revealed and the Mystery is that God, through his son Jesus, ransomed for us in his passion, death and resurrection, will, through the power of the Holy Spirit, unite all them in heaven and earth.
Even in Revelation the dragon goes off to wage war on the offspring. The one that witness and obey the commandments of God (those who are doing the will of God) are the ones Satin is concerned with.
From Adam in Genesis all the way to Revelation, God is the same yesterday today and tomorrow God wants obedient Son and daughters in faith to receive the promise land.
