Did you ever notice in the story of Adam and Eve that the author of Gen: says there was the tree of life next to the forbidden tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve chose to eat from the forbidden tree of knowledge rather than from the tree of life (which would help them go against the temptation of eating from the forbidden tree). Because Jesus hung on a tree for our sins, he became our tree of life so we can be empowered to do the will of God, to obedient sons and daughters in our faith, and to be united with him in one body, one spirit, one hope, one baptism, and one Lord, in his Kingdom.
Let us follow the WORD through salvation history.
Jn1: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being.
1. The word was always even before the world.
2. The word and God were together.
3. The word was and is God.
4. The word was with and was God even before the world.
5. All things were created by the word
6. And nothing was created unless it was created by the word.
So we see that it was the WORD that created the world because God said let there be light. And then there was light.
As we follow the WORD in the Old Testament.
God speaks to Abraham and the patriarch and then we see God delivered the WORD to Moses with his own finger making the WORD physical and touchable and visible as Moses receives the two tables with the inscription of the Ten Commandments, the Word of God.
